Missing members in IntelliSense

I've seen this happening in different computers here, so it seems to be a bug in Visual Studio. This is the issue:

I'm working on a CustomerBusinessEntity (for example), then I go into one of its properties and try calling something provided by the BusinessEntity baseclass (such as GetFieldValue), and IntelliSense doesn't show that method; all it shows are members declared at the CustomerBusinessEntity level (no members inherited from the BusinessEntity baseclass are shown). However, I can build the code without any error, and I can run the application without a problem.

That can only be a bug with the IntelliSense in VS 2005. Whenever that happens, just restart VS 2005, and the members should appear again.

This is one of those things that can throw you on a loop for 30 minutes looking for an issue that's really not yours.

More EPS MVPs

Many of the 2007 Microsoft MVPs have been announced recently, and for EPS, it was a good round of announcements again. I myself received the MVP award again, as did several other "EPSers" (either direct employees or close partners). Here's the quick list:

  • Claudio Lassala (one of the head architects of the Milos Solution Platform) is a C# MVP again.
  • I have been named a C# MVP again (this is my 12th year as an MVP, I believe). (I am the CSA of Milos)
  • Rick Strahl (co-founder of CoDe Magazine) is a C# MVP for 2007
  • Rod Paddock (editor of CoDe Magazine) is a VB.NET MVP again in 2007
  • Kevin McNeish (our "partner in crime" for www.VFPConversion.com) is C# MVP again for 2007.
  • Remi Caron (runs www.VFPConversion.nl) is VB.NET MVP for another year.
  • Juergen Wondzinski (Woody), one of our partners for www.VFPConversion.de is VFP MVP again.

Congratulations, everyone!

This continues our proud tradition of supporting the MVP program. To my knowledge, EPS has received more MVP awards than any other company. I haven't counted the total number of MVP awards we got, but it gotta be somewhere between 40 and 50, or perhaps more (just for employees... not counting contractors). (Actually, if someone feels I am wrong and there is a company that received more awards, post a reply. I'd be curious and happy to know who outdoes us).

And that doesn't even count the number of CoDe Magazine authors who are MVPs. It would be interesting to count those too. Since we are so involved in the community, we have a ton of MVPs writing for us...
